The annual Oyster Roast at Airlie Gardens in Wilmington, NC on October 18th, 2019 from 6 pm to 10 pm, features seasonal bivalves, cash bar, plus live music with Band of Oz.
Admission fee includes two drink tickets; appetizers, BBQ, fried chicken, and fixings from Middle of the Island Catering; and steamed oysters from Elijah’s Restaurant.
The Oyster Roast is a tradition rooted in Airlie’s history. Beginning in 1905, extravagant oyster roasts were hosted on the property. Revived in 2000, this annual tradition has become the most important fundraising event for the Airlie Gardens Foundation. Proceeds support Airlie’s Environmental Education Programs, which provide hands-on environmental education for thousands of schoolchildren and garden guests each year.
