Cucalorus Film Festival will take place Wednesday, November 12 through Saturday November 15, 2008. Screening over 145 documentaries, features and shorts, the festival draws visitors from around the world for a creative exploration of the artform. The 14th annual Cucalorus festival takes place in the historic port city of Wilmington, North Carolina, which is also one of the leading film production locations in the country and home to EUE Screen Gems Studios.
Wilmington has become a major center of American film and television production; motion pictures such as A Walk To Remember, Blue Velvet, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Empire Records, Cape Fear, Black Knight, 28 Days, The Crow (death place of Brandon Lee), Nights in Rodanthe and the controversial Dakota Fanning film Hounddog; as well as television shows such as Matlock, Surface, The WB’s Dawson’s Creek and One Tree Hill have been produced here.
