Join us for an evening at beach to learn about the nesting sea turtles at Wrightsville Beach! All ages are invited to attended this free family fun event. You will see a real sea turtle carapace and be able to identify scutes. Learn about how sea turtles come onto the beach and lay their nest. Also how the hatchlings use a temporary tooth called a caruncle to tear open the egg. Then how the hatchlings imprint onto the sand setting their internal compass so hopefully they will return to our beach to lay their own nests one day!
The Turtle Talks are held right on the beach next to Johnnie Mercer Pier at 7pm on Tuesday August 21st.
